Some of the strains of Azospirillum used for controlling pathogens and pests to have a sustainable, conservative agriculture. Azospirillum strains are also able to solubilise phosphate. The strains of Azospirillum were used in bioremediation of oils and hydrocarbons polluted soils.

Mode of Action

Azospirillum is an associative type of microorganism capable of colonizing the root surface of the plants. By establishing a symbiotic associationship, it helps the plants in getting the nutrient nitrogen from the atmosphere.
