Biopesticides are microbial pesticides which consist of bacteria, entomopathogenic fungi or viruses and sometimes includes the metabolites that bacteria or fungi produce. They involve in pest management through predatory, parasitic or chemical relationships. Biopesticides generally affect only the target pest and closely related organisms, in contrast to broad spectrum, conventional pesticides that may affect organisms as different as birds, insects and mammals. They are effective in very small quantities and decompose quickly.
